We believe missions begin right where we are. Our local outreach programs here in Melbourne serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals across our community—carrying the love of Jesus into real-life situations. Whether it’s a warm meal, support for a struggling student, or guidance for women’s wellness, these ministries are expressions of care, compassion, and hope in action.

Why Local Missions Matter

It’s easy to think of missions as something far away—across oceans or continents—but the heart of missions is about bringing compassion wherever there is need and brokenness. Our local communities are filled with people who face hardship, loneliness, and uncertainty every day.

Supporting local missions means:

Seeing immediate impact – Your generosity feeds hungry families, provides safe shelter, and offers real hope within walking distance of your own neighbourhood.

Building the Kingdom close to home – Transforming our communities builds a tangible witness of love—one that inspires others to hope and believe.

Equipping local leaders and neighbours – By investing in those around us, we raise up a generation of compassionate servants and faithful leaders who reflect God’s heart for justice and mercy.

Responding to the call to love our neighbours – Real service meets real needs, as we care for the overlooked, the vulnerable, and the hurting in our streets and suburbs.

Creating a ripple effect – Acts of kindness and restoration locally create momentum that reaches globally—every transformed life becomes a catalyst for change worldwide.

Chaplaincy

As part of our community outreach, we also provide chaplaincy support—a supportive presence in everyday environments where people need care but may not seek it out.

Our trained chaplains serve across the community in places like:

Playgroups & Family Support

Sporting clubs and walking groups

Schools and ESL classes

Courtrooms and community centres

Correctional facilities and transitional homes

They offer a listening ear, emotional support, and gentle guidance to people navigating life’s challenges—whether personal, relational, or circumstantial. It’s not about giving advice or solving problems; it’s about being present, providing comfort without judgment, and helping people find strength, clarity, and direction when they need it most.

Chaplaincy is one of the ways we contribute to a healthier, more connected community—meeting people where they are, with respect, empathy, and care.
